And while tattoos used to be considered mainly the domain of bikers and sailors, they are now mainstream, with people from all walks of life getting inked.

Do tattoos hurt?

It depends on the location and the person.  Some people sit like a champ, and the needles seem not to bother them, whereas others have a tough time.  You won’t know until you try!

Some of the most sensitive areas are inside the elbow, behind the knee, and on the ankle. These areas have thinner skin and not as much muscle or fat to cushion the needles.

Other factors that can affect how much a tattoo hurts include:

  • The size of the tattoo
  • The detail in the design
  • How long you’ve been sitting
  • Your pain tolerance

If you’re worried about the pain, talk to your artist ahead of time. They may be able to recommend a numbing cream or give you some other tips to help make the experience more comfortable.

What is the process of getting a tattoo done?

The process is pretty simple. First, you’ll need to decide on a design. This can be something you come up with yourself or find in a tattoo book or online. Once you have a design, you’ll need to make an appointment with one of our tattoo artists.

When you come in for your appointment, our artist will talk to you about your design and where you would like it placed on your body. Once that’s decided, the artist will begin drawing the tattoo on your skin. This is called the “stencil.”

After the stencil is complete, the artist will begin tattooing. The needles used for tattooing are different than those used for piercing, and they deposit ink into your skin very controlled way.

Once the tattoo is complete, the artist will clean it off and apply a bandage. It’s essential to listen to your artist’s aftercare instructions, as proper care will ensure that your tattoo heals quickly and looks its best.

How long does a tattoo take?

The time it takes to complete a tattoo depends on the size and complexity of the design. A smaller tattoo can usually be done in less than an hour, while a larger tattoo may take several hours.

How should I take care of my new tattoo?

After your tattoo is done, the artist will give you specific instructions on how to care for it. You’ll need to keep the area clean and dry and apply a healing ointment or cream several times a day. You should also avoid direct sunlight and swimming for at least two weeks, as these can cause the tattoo to fade.

If you follow these instructions, your tattoo should heal quickly and without any problems.

What forms of payment do you take?

We take cash, credit cards, Venmo, and gift certificates.

Do you take walk-ins?

Unfortunately not. We are appointment only. This allows us to give each client the attention they deserve.

Can my friends come?

Certainly!  The more, the merrier, and if they have any questions about getting a tattoo, encourage them to ask. We figure that your friends can help cheer you on as you take the plunge and finally get that tattoo you’ve wanted.

Can my child come?

Sure, we’re family-friendly, but we don’t child sit – so they need to either be old enough to look after themselves, or you need to have someone there to keep an eye on them.

How old do I have to be to get a tattoo?

In Louisiana, you must be 18 years old to get a tattoo. If you are under 18, you must have a parent or guardian present to sign a consent form.

Do you have a piercer?

Not yet, but it’s in the works.

How much does a tattoo cost?

The cost of a tattoo depends on the design’s size, complexity, and location. Smaller, more straightforward tattoos usually start at around $150, while larger, more detailed tattoos can cost several hundred dollars.
